Every product on this page has a full written review on TechMinds with a 30-day minimum testing period. If a product is here, we use it, we have measured it, and we can defend the recommendation in detail.

Hostinger — The hosting this site runs on

We migrated TechMinds to Hostinger in Q1 2026 after 14 months on a competing host. The migration reduced our average page response time from 480ms to 180ms and cut hosting cost by 60%. Support response time dropped from “next business day” to “under 30 minutes” in our experience.

What we recommend it for: Small to mid-size content sites (under 500k monthly visits) that want managed hosting without paying for a dedicated server.

What we do not recommend it for: High-traffic SaaS applications or sites requiring custom server configurations.

AI coding tools

Cursor — Daily driver for code

We use Cursor as the primary IDE for the team. After 6 months of daily use across Python, TypeScript, Rust, and Go projects, the multi-file editing and project-aware autocomplete consistently outperform the alternatives for our workflow.

Why we recommend it: Best-in-class codebase awareness. The Composer and Agent modes understand cross-file context in a way other AI IDEs do not.

What we do not recommend it for: Teams standardized on JetBrains tools — the muscle memory cost is real and the value drops if you are already productive in Rider or PyCharm.

Productivity hardware

Mechanical keyboards

Our current top pick rotates roughly every 18 months as new switches and layouts arrive. The detailed recommendation is in our keyboard buying guides — the short version is that for most reviewers on the team, a 65% layout with hot-swappable switches is the sweet spot for typing-heavy work.

Monitor arms

A good monitor arm is the single highest-ROI ergonomic upgrade for desk work. Our current pick is a gas-spring single-arm model that handles up to 32-inch displays. Full comparison in our ergonomics coverage.

Webcam and microphone

For video calls, a dedicated USB microphone outperforms any built-in laptop mic by a wide margin. Our current picks are listed in our remote work gear guide.

Software and services

Password manager

Note-taking

We do not have a team-wide standard here — half the team uses Obsidian, half uses Logseq, and one person still uses plain Markdown in Vim. The review with the longest-running consensus is our productivity tools comparison.

Domain and DNS

Cloudflare Registrar for domains (no markup, free WHOIS privacy), Cloudflare DNS for anycast resolution. We use both. This is not interesting enough to write a full review, but we get asked, so: Cloudflare.

How this list is maintained
